the UK. Our mission is to continually improve our products and services to
satisfy our customers’ needs, therby optimising long-term profits for the
benefit of our shareholders, employees and our community in

A brief history
The business began in 1949 when Bill Rowe set up his bakery and shop in
Swanpool Street, Falmouth, making bread, pasties, cakes and confectionery. A couple of shops were added during the 1950’s but the growth really
began after Bill's marriage to Phyllis Wallace in 1963.The combination of his
baking and her selling skills and drive led to many more shops in
neighbouring towns during the 1960s and 70s.

A short biography of our founder Bill Rowe
Born in Helston on the 8th of May 1921, Bill Rowe was the eldest of five
children of Joe and Ellen Rowe. He left school at fourteen, with no particular
ambition, and was guided into an apprenticeship by Joe at Charlie Wearne's
bakery in Lower Street, Helston where he worked for about seven years.
